  IMAP, Forward to GMAIL, use gmail or hotmail to access via imap or pop3 – the mail system really isn’t that bad, horde sucks, but it’s not for regular use. Besides the network at Yale is actually pretty amazing and I have really missed it -10 MB/s downloads :’( – ever since I got home.

  You can access your yale email directly via imap. You don’t have to forward it to gmail to do that.
